You asked me that out of nowhere the other day. While we were hanging out like we do all the time. The weird thing is that I knew exactly what you meant because it didn’t need any context. That’s the question that constantly lives between us. Not because we don’t want this, but because we’re still both so afraid that it isn’t real.
The answer is yes. We’re really doing this. You and I. It IS real and we’re doing it in a way that only you and I could understand because it’s the only way.
I already know that both of our instincts are to run first so that we don’t get left behind. We stay though, and we keep showing up. We’re learning how to trust each other and how to love each other. It’s not always pretty, but the result has been nothing but beautiful in its own way.
