I love you, but I don’t want to wait years to get engaged, then another two years to get married, and then another year to start trying for kids. If you’re talking about possibly proposing in five years, that could easily turn into eight years before we even start a family. That’s almost a decade, and I don’t want to spend that much of my life waiting. I understand wanting to be financially stable and have a home first, and I respect your reasoning. But if you keep dragging your feet because everything has to be perfectly in place first, I don’t know how long I’m supposed to wait. I love you, but I don’t know if I’m willing to wait that long, even for you.
