You know what? **** this. I am so ******* angry at you. I trusted you. After all those years, after everything we shared, after letting you back into my life and believing that you actually gave a **** about me, I trusted you. And apparently that was my mistake. You came back into my life, pulled me close, made me feel like our friendship actually meant something to you, and then slowly started backing away while I was left standing there trying to figure out what the **** changed. I could feel you pulling away. I wasn’t imagining it. I wasn’t being paranoid. I wasn’t “too much.” Something changed, and instead of having the ******* decency to be honest with me, you just let me feel it happening. And then the other night? You left me. You didn’t check on me afterward. You didn’t make sure I was okay. You didn’t do the thing that the A I knew months ago would have done. And that’s what ******* broke something in me. Because now I’m sitting here wondering if you were just happy to get rid of me. Maybe I was nothing more than someone you wanted around when you were bored. Someone to drink with. Someone to fill the silence when you were lonely. Someone you could reach for when you wanted attention and then forget about when you didn’t. If that’s all I was to you, you should have ******* said so. You don’t get to reopen a door that I had spent years keeping closed, make me believe you actually wanted me in your life, let me trust you again, and then treat me like I’m just another person you happen to know. I deserved honesty. I deserved basic ******* consideration. And I deserved to know that the person I trusted wasn’t going to disappear the second he stopped getting whatever he wanted from the connection. I’m not going to chase you. I’m not going to ask you why. I’m not going to beg you to care. And I’m not going to sit around waiting for you to get drunk and lonely enough to remember I exist. If that’s the only time you think of me, keep ******* forgetting. Because I’m done making excuses for you. I’m done romanticizing this past summer. I’m done wondering whether I imagined the connection. And I’m done blaming myself for caring about someone who apparently couldn’t be bothered to care for me in the most basic way. You lost someone who genuinely loved you as a person and trusted you completely. That’s on you. Not me. **** you, A
