I never knew you liked me back then.

Maybe if I did, things would’ve been different. But honestly, we both knew it probably wouldn’t have worked out. We were young, dumb, and didn’t really know anything about love yet.

Then somehow, seven years later, we met again.

And I don’t know why, but I genuinely feel happy whenever I’m around you.

It’s the little things. Taking care of you when you’re drunk. Holding your bag for you. Wiping your mouth after you eat. Driving around and talking about random things. Just being around you.

None of these things feel like a burden to me. I actually like doing them for you.

And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but somewhere along the way, I started seeing something.

I just wish you could see what I saw.

And here’s the part that still makes me laugh.

Back in 2019, you recommended me a movie called The Notebook. You told me it was your favorite. I watched it because you recommended it, and somehow it became one of my favorites too.

What’s ironic about that?

The story is about a guy who waited seven years for the girl he loved.

And how long has it been since you and I last really talked?

Seven years.

I know, I know. The movie is obviously not about our situation, and I’m not trying to make some crazy “this must be fate” argument. There’s just something about that coincidence that I can’t ignore.

Seven years apart.

Then we meet again, and suddenly I find myself feeling this way about you.

I don’t know where this goes. Maybe nowhere. Maybe somewhere.

I just hope you know how much I genuinely like you and how much I’d love to get to know you even more.

I’m not asking you for anything. I don’t want to force anything.

If it works out, then it works out.

And if it doesn’t, at least we tried.

At least we won’t have to wonder what could’ve happened.

No regrets.

I just wish you knew what I see when I’m with you.
