It was only the mystery of how the person felt that interested you? Does she actually like me? Did I misread something? However, there was nothing more to them. What you see on the surface is what you get.
Once you realize everything was a manipulation, it's like a light switch. It wasn't even a particularly smart one. You just didn't want to believe what was in front of you. Once you recognize it, take measures to get it away from your life as fast as you can.
Like there's a reason why everyone is telling you the same thing about her and why most people don't like a seemingly perfectly likeable person at the surface level. I have my friends. I'm far more interesting than her. People actually want to talk to me. Why was I so caught up in this? Her opinion and actions should be meaningless.
In short, I was dumb lol. I let someone boring and mediocre drag me down for too large of a portion of my life. The fact that her boyfriend makes fun of me two years later the first time I meet him is actually kind of pathetic on her part, not to mention that he's kinda ugly lol (sorry I had to say it). But yeah that fact shows just how vindictive and petty someone can be. I don't have to do anything to get rid of her. I just have to be myself and make my dislike known. It will happen on it's own. Strange to just realize this.
