People often ask me how I know it’s her.

Truthfully, I didn’t always know.

At first, I couldn’t explain why my heart held onto that certainty when everything around me seemed to tell me to let go. But then her absence brought me closer to God. In the silence she left behind, I found myself reaching for Him in ways I never had before.

And somewhere in that closeness, God reminded me.

Not with some grand sign or thunderous revelation, but with a quiet certainty that settled somewhere deeper than thought. I realized that whatever the outcome may be, loving her had changed the direction of my life. She strengthened my faith. She made me want to become better. She made me want to confront the parts of myself I had spent years avoiding.

And that is why I believe there is something sacred about what we shared.

If she were never meant to be part of my story, I don't know that her absence would have brought me closer to the One who wrote it.

Maybe I don't know the timing. Maybe I don't know the path. Maybe I don't even know what the ending looks like.

But I know what she awakened in me.

She made me want to be worthy of the love I claimed to have for her. She made me want to become a man of greater faith, greater honesty, greater patience, and greater love.

So I don't need to force the future.

I can trust God with that.

And if our paths are meant to cross again, I believe they will.

Until then, I will keep becoming the person I should have been all along.

Because whether she returns to me tomorrow, years from now, or in a way I never expected, I know this much:

My love for her brought me closer to God, and whatever God chooses to do with that love, I trust Him with it.
