I never dignified your BS with a response, but seriously? **** you.
You think that, just because I refuse to embody misery in the way you do, that I must have it easy. You think that just because I choose to continue wearing a smile, that must mean I'm hiding handouts.
Unlike you, I refuse to gain from the pity that can be harvested off others. Unlike you, I have dreams. No, not glamorous dreams, but practical and realistic dreams. But you have no idea the adversity I've had to overcome just to be here to be able to write this.
I painstakingly overcame the addictions you introduced me to. I got the mental health help that I needed, and I continue to work on that no matter how long it appears to be in remission. I raised our child with little help from you. I started my own business, and I am my own boss now.
You never saw the withdrawal. You never saw the near relapses. You never saw me as an inpatient. You never saw me suffer through the cycle of ****** meds and their awful adverse reactions. You never saw the countless hours of heartwrenching therapy. You never saw me relinquish all pride as I begged and borrowed to provide for our child when you wouldn't.
I only started my business because making my own schedule was the only way I could juggle raising a neurodivergent child as a neurodivergent mother, while still being able to provide without your help.
Not a single part of my journey was ******* "easy". I've survived a thousand ego deaths while yours remains fully in tact, albeit extremely fragile.
It's because I was never enabled in the same ways that made you so grotesquely entitled that I can rest assured that, in time, my dreams will come true. Not because I sat there wishing and waiting, but because I really earned it.
So the next time you want to call me a fraud, quit confusing resilience with ease, and go project in the ******* mirror. If you want a better life, go ******* make one.
